Special Needs & Moving On projectsThe Special Needs and Moving On Projects provide resources and support for workers at the post office whose children have disabilities. The projects are available to members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and the Union of Postal Communications Employees (Public Service Alliance of Canada). The Special Needs Project is geared to families with young children; the Moving On Project is for adult sons and daughters with special needs. Centre of Excellence for Children and Adolescents with Special Needs

cecasnThe Centre of Excellence for Children and Adolescents with Special Needs is focused specifically on rural and remote communities and in particular on children and youth with special needs living in Canada's North.

Their mission is to ensure that advanced knowledge about children and adolescents with special needs living in rural, remote and northern locations is disseminated effectively to those who need it most.

The Centre of Excellence:

* Works with families, communities and governments to develop the best programs for young people with special needs in rural and northern Canada
* Connects parents, teachers and groups interested in special needs
* Provides easy ways to get helpful information
* Collects and reviews the latest information on special needs
* Reports on best practices and best programs
* Finds new technologies to improve services
